Abstract
The evaluation of Information Retrieval Systems has been developed parallelly to their evolution for reasons of scientific nature, generating the appearance of a great number of proposals to make this process. Assuming that all these proposals - most of which they appear in this work- try to look for a robust mechanism to measure the effectiveness of Information Retrieval Systems, it is not less certain information retrieval is a complex problem to resolve, due to the inherent problems related with translating the user’s information needs to a formalized expression search.
