Abstract

In this paper we shall analyze the persuasive messages most frequently used in contemporary Spanish nutritional discourse, especially in health claims found in food labeling and food advertising. To this end, we shall examine the various arguments and rhetorical devices used to influence consumer opinion regarding nutrition and health as well as consumer behavior when shopping for foods.
