Perception of teachers, educational researchers and technologists on the scope, possibilities of use and applicability of the inclusive metaverse: a qualitative study

Abstract
Innovation and adaptation to the new requirements of society has been one of the backbone principles of the educational system. In this line, one of the technological innovations that has experienced the greatest boom in recent years has been the metaverse, a virtual world that allows an immersive experience. Due to its recent appearance, the possibilities of the metaverse in education as an inclusive tool are still in the process of exploration. This qualitative study makes visible and analyzes the perceptions of different agents related toeducation and technology (teachers, professors, technologists and university researchers) about the characteristics, applicability and potential of the use of the metaverse as an educational and inclusive tool for student diversity. In the analysis, the coding and categorization of the thematic content is developed through the Nvivo program. The results are structured according to four dimensions: 1. Access to resources; 2. Educational use; 3. In conclusion, all the participants value positively the educational use of the metaverse and the capacity to respond to certain special educational needs. However, they also point out the need for greater investment in resources and specific teacher training for its implementation.
