Abstract

The aim of this paper is to assess how pre-service teachers use their scientific knowledge during a laboratory activity. In the final test of the subject “Experimental Science Teaching” we requested a group of students to make some "Devices and mechanical machines" assemblies, and to answer some questions about the experience. The results show that the students -at the end of their initial training- have a relevant knowledge in this topic, but there are also some worrying gaps that affect the teaching activity of a future teacher.
