Abstract

In this paper, we explore the concept of Scholarship of Teaching and Learning, its evolution and meaning in the last decade, as a model of  research and reflection on teaching activity. University professors are requested to publish scientific papers to recognize their research academic merit. In this sense, this model claims that the advances and improvements in teaching should also be reported and recognized in the same way. It is important that both roles, teaching and researching at the University, have the same value for promotion. Teaching action should be examined in the same terms than researching role, in order to improve the quality of teaching.
