Valbuena Prat y el teatro
Abstract
Valbuena Prat used drama as the suitable genre where to develop his precise and original research. From 1924, year of his thesis, in which he suggests a rigourous classification of the calderonian autos, until 1969, when he published his Teatro español del Siglo de Oro, he traces the trajectory of his contributions. So much in the essential edition of the Autos sacramentales (1927), as in Calderón, su personalidad, su arte dramático, su estilo y sus obras (1941) or the Historia del Teatro Español (1956), Valbuena outlines accurately the Golden Age poets. From them he always stressed Calderón de la Barca, whom he never considered inferior to Lope, as Menéndez Pelayo and his school had done. Finally, the intolerance of his exile, in 1943, to the Universidad de Murcia is accounted for.Downloads
