Abstract

In this paper, the author deals with the connection between referent and text in the short story. The semantico-extensional organization of this narrative nsubgenre is studied and the process of intensionalization fron referent to text is taken into account in the explanation of its constitution. The active contrast between the referential and textual space and the outside domain is focused as a feature of short story: a great part of the characters' life remains out of the work, within a space of suggestion. Emilia Pardo Bazán's short story El dominó verde is analyzed as to the studied matter.
