MORE-THAN-HUMAN SENSIBILITY AND INTERSPECIES AFFECT IN MARÍA OSPINA PIZANO’S “SOLO UN POCO AQUÍ”
Abstract
This article examines María Ospina Pizano’s novel Solo un poco aquí (Penguin Random House, 2023) from a more-than-human perspective, focusing on the affective and sensory bonds that shape forms of multispecies coexistence. Through an analysis of four narratives centered on animal protagonists—two dogs, a migratory bird, a beetle, and a porcupine—the article explores how attention to nonhuman sensibilities displaces instrumental and anthropocentric approaches to care. In dialogue with thinkers such as Donna Haraway and Vinciane Despret, it argues that these narratives activate a relational ethics that enables a rethinking of responsibility, interspecies communication, and the conditions of a shared futurity.
