César Vallejo and the magazine Peru
Abstract
The journalistic context in which the early printed versions of Trilce were published has not been studied in detail. This work aims at pointing out this gap and at opening a path for future research on the critical reception of Trilce. These investigations should highlight how, even among the members of the Bohemia de Trujillo, the book triggered different reactions. The detailed recreation of the diverse impact of the work, even among his friends and old poetic comrades, is essential for apprehending Vallejo’s aesthetic deed in all its magnitude and complexity.
