Abstract

In accordance with the ideas developed by Angel Rama in Latin America narrative Transcultura- tion, texts of Rulfo present some factors related with the cultural experience of the «trastierras» and the circunstances socio-political writer lived in his childhood. The idea that I argue in this article is that the ficctionalization of the popular speech of the region of Jalisco and violence are two complementary mechanisms involved decisively in the con guration of the microcosm rufiano and in the modulation of its writing. Through the analysis of several stories I try to specify the different functions and implications thereof.
