Juan Rulfo: despojar con la mirada. Literatura y cine en El despojo de Antonio Reynoso
Abstract
Juan Rulfo’s participation on Antonio Reynoso’s El Despojo (1960) is one of the results of Rulfo’s interest in lms. The argument and dialogue ideas were created by the author as the same time as the lming development in the natural areas of Jalisco. The lm is considered the most accomplished transposition of author’s literature to celluloid. This article deepens in the key creative and interpretative aspects of the short lm: the Mexican experimental cinema inclusion of the seventies, the literary origin as lmic adaptation or transposition of an Ambrose Bierce’s tale, and coincidences –in theme, style, symbolism and myths - with the narrative universe created in El llano en llamas (1952) and Pedro Páramo (1955) by Rulfo.Downloads
