Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.- Articles are welcome in English and Spanish.
- Acknowledgment of receipt does not imply the article has been accepted for publication.
- Articles will be 5000-7000 words including abstract, keywords, notes, bibliographical references, tables and figures.
- For studies and pieces of research, it is recommended that the article includes, at least, the following aspects: approach to problem or issue under discussion, background and theoretical grounding, design and methodology, results, discussion of results, conclusions, limitations, and ideas for further research.
- Articles, both for English and Spanish, must stick to the criteria set in the last edition of the American Psychological Association style manual (www.apastyle.org). At the end of the article a list called “bibliographical references”, will be included. This list will be ordered alphabetically and should stick to the stylistic norms previously mentioned.
- Notes, which should be kept to a minimum, will be consecutively numbered and will be presented as foot notes. Notes which merely include bibliographical references should be avoided since they should be integrated into the text highlighting the author/s and the publication year in brackets; the complete reference will be included in the bibliographical references.
- Figures (graphs, figures, photographs, etc.) and tables, should just be included if they complete or clarify the text. They will be consecutively numbered according to its type (tables and figures) and will be presented in black and white. Tables and figures must be presented in a format so as to facilitate subsequent modifications when it comes to the final edition of the text.
- All authors must be entered in the OJS platform, with their personal details (name, surname, email, affiliation and ORCID). Subsequent inclusion of authors who do not appear in the initial proposal submission will not be accepted.
- The journal Educatio Siglo XXI only accepts submissions of unpublished primary studies (empirical research) and secondary studies (meta-analytical, bibliometric research and systematic reviews prepared under PRISMA criteria). Theoretical reflections are not accepted.
- The title of the article will be written in Spanish and English.
- Abstract in IMRYD format and keywords (maximum 250 words; in Spanish, English and French)
- Three files must be sent: anonymised article according to the format established in word, certificate of authorship according to the established format and a file with all the data (name and surname, affiliation, email and postal address for correspondence) of all the authors.
- Keywords must be entered separately by pressing enter between words, both in English and Spanish.
