Abstract

The aim of this paper is to examine the relationships among war, politics and morals from the European Enlightenment to the global Postmodernity. In order to do it, we choose two representative samples: a political defence of war, political realism, and a moral defence of peace, popular attitudes against war. We analyse them both, underlining their most important arguments and showing their historical consequences. Finally, we look at the new wars in the second half of the XX century and at the beginning of the Millennium.
