Abstract

The aim of this article is to criticize the discourse of social exclusion. We will begin by exposing some central features of our globalizing world and then we will present some reasons that make this discourse profoundly inadequate. It distracts attention from fundamental characteristics of our contemporary world, so that it can be used to obscure relationships at the root of exploitation, domination or subordination. Against this discourse, I will propose the concept of adverse incorporation to avoid these dangers.
