Abstract

In this article it is sought to analyze the conditions that make possible the persistence in the social speech of the categories that, in spite of having been invalidated scientifi cally, they continue being part of our discursive universe, and how it becomes more complex, if it fi ts, to disassemble what of segregationist and excluding there are in them. At the same time it shows the concealment process of what, in those categories, it can contravene the democratic principles and how they are incorporate the semantic discrediting features to categories more ‘sociological’ like those of ‘emigrants’. The contradiction that in the fi eld of the freedoms and the equality of rights represents this strategy it is analyzed, in what concerns to the context of the European Union, as well as the potentialities of generating new open and plural societies acording to the head lines of the intercultural program.
