Abstract

Platonic doctrine of soul is fundamental in order to integrate the young Plato into the middle-aged and old Plato soul is the beginning of inespecific movement (Phaedrus and Symposium), it is inmortal because of its simplicity (Phaedon) but as principle of movimento it is also tripartite (Republic). Soul becomes inmortal, that is, the same as divinity, when unifies its motive power, diversificated (tripartite) when animates human organism, with rational activity. That simplicity is the one of the inmortal and because of this it is divine.
