Abstract

This paper examines Gabriel Naude's (1600-1653) critic to the political anonymous proliferating in the French Court of his time. Therefore, we will analyse his work Le Marfore (1620) and Mascurar (1649) which, in spite of their temporary distance, maintain a close intellectual identity between them: both uphold monarchist absolutism as the only possible model, in order to propitiate political pax and to defend the reasons of state for the new French State in the Baroque age.
