Incidence of the syndrome of burnout in the cognitive profile in sport young people of high performance

Abstract

The urgent necessity that psychology professional practices it framed in the sport context demand in this respect of the study of burnout directs the work that we present toward a contextualization of the same one in the high-performance sport and early ages. This psychological syndrome, grateful as illness unchained by an atmosphere of developed stress in the environment that surrounds an individual, it is considered as one of the risks more outstanding psychopathological and like one of the factors to control from very early ages. Trying to respond to the demands that are required to mediate the goods of the burnout in youths that develop their sport in the high-performance, from the sport daily application has analyzed the incidence of burnout in a population of 230 sportsmen between 14 and 21 years. Next to it, we have studied the relationships that the suffering of this syndrome and certain psychological aspects associated to the sport yield, as well as the existence of relating significant differences has been analyzed to the predominant cognitive profiles in function of the burnout levels that present. This work is part of a designed wider work and developed in Unidad de Psicología del Deporte of Universidad de Murcia.
