Abstract

The purpose of this study was to observe changes in mood states in a program of physical activity in pregnant women. We selected 15 pregnant women (32.14 ± 2.59 years, 64.72 ± 7.81 kg, 163.20 ± 8.46 cm) who agreed voluntary to the study realization. They followed physical activity program for six weeks, during which body mass was watched and the evolution of the Profile of Mood States by means of POMS, of 15 items, adapted into Spanish by Fuentes et al. (1995) was evaluated. Results show that there is no variation in the Depression and Anger factor, but there is an evolution respected to the Tension and Vigor, which tend to descend on the second part of the physical activity program. As for the Fatigue, evolves steadily throughout the intervention to decrease significantly at the end of the program.
