Abstract

Experimental evidence gathered in the hypnosis field supports the idea that persons can feel hypnotized and respond to hypnotic suggestions without being relaxed, or showing a lethargic appearance, closed eyes included. Waking hypnosis was born in a time when it could not grow up easily. Nevertheless, seventy four years later, waking hypnosis seems to be one of the more promising areas inside the hypnosis field. We present our point of view about the positive features and advantages of waking hypnosis induction methods. Finally, three empirically validated methods of waking hypnosis are described.
