Abstract

The magazine Les matinées espagnoles, founded and directed by Marie Letizia de Rute (born Marie Studolmine Bonaparte-Wyse) and published between Madrid and Paris, was a powerful means of diffusion of French culture in Spain at the end of nineteenth century, thanks notably to the prestige of many French and Spanish collaborators. Even if the theater is not the core of the magazine, it is well present, especially in the chronicles of parisian life, which include the representations, the work of the players, the personality of the writers and the characteristics of the most significant plays.
