Abstract

We present a bibliometric study of the documental production on the importance of teacher training in the introduction of cooperative learning techniques in the classroom. We have revised the documental production carried out between 1997 and 2008. The whole documentation gathered in from PsycINFO, ERIC and Psicodoc data bases, using the descriptors “cooperative learning” and “teacher training” (both in English and Spanish) make up the sample used, which includes a total of 98 documents. The results obtained show that a) the documental production on the subject mentioned above is scarce in a relative manner; b) the production in the last five years has gradually gone down. The scientific community seems to be losing interest in the subject although the problems related to academic aspects and social interaction are increasing considerably.
