Abstract

The circumstances that characterize the current business environment, that can be summarized in the internationalization and the globalization of the markets, beside the full development of the called Information Society, have forced the companies to improve their competitiveness. Within such a situation, the information appears as a strategic first kind resource, whose appropriate administration can contribute new competing ways for the companies. Presently work expose a conceptual model that explains the job of information like a competitive resource, in two main dimensions of analysis. On one hand, we study their external dimension, so its capacity to approach the company to the reality of the environment in which operates. On the other hand, we analyze their internal dimension, so its implications in the directive, innovation and generation of " Knowhow " processes, giving special attention to the last aspect, that presents excellent positive effects in the companies competitiveness
