Abstract

The aim of this work is to reveal the spatial structure of tourism in the city of San Cristobal de Las Casas, in the state of Chiapas, Mexico. The research is divided into two major parts: the first outlines the natural, social, and historical base that supports the growth of tourism in the study area, while the second identifies the elements around which tourism is organized in the territory: resources and tourist services, means of transportation, and tourist flows.
