MARCADORES DISCURSIVOS PROCEDENTES DE VERBOS PERCEPTIVOS EN EL DISCURSO AFÁSICO
Abstract
«Perception-verb maskess in aphasic discourse». The present work approaches the study of perception-verb marker (specifically the forms mira, (vamos) a ver, oye) in the speech of four speakers with Broca aphasia. In the first place, the data and the methodology employed are dealt with: transcriptions and records from the PerLA Corpus (“Perception, Language and Aphasia”) and methodology grounded on ethnomethodological conversational analysis. Secondly, the category of perception-verb markers is described from morphological, syntactic and pragmatic perspectives. Section 4 focuses on the extracts where such markers occur in the corpus and analyses their functions. These are discussed in section 5. The data shows that speakers with greater pragmatic abilities (according to the Pragmatic Protocol of Prutting and Kirchner) tend to make excessive use of these markers. Their greater occurrence seems to be linked to a general strategy of compensation of grammatical deficit. Such strategy should be taken into consideration when planning a therapeutic intervention with speakers with Broca aphasia.Downloads
