Abstract

This study is about Spanish constructions where there are pleonastic structure. In some cases, two lexical or grammatical components -deictic forms- which mean the same or play the same part in a sentence can appear together without communicating any additional information, therefore they are against the language principle of economy. That is why their function must be studied in connection with their intentional purpose; so, it is necessary to analyse whether their presence is pertinent or if they are superfluous elements the elimination of which will not change their speech sense.
