LA FILOGENIA DEL LENGUAJE: ¿DECADENCIA DE FORMAS EN EL SIGLO XXI?

Abstract

Antonio de La Calle, a spanish linguistic in the second half of the 19th century, exiled to France where he wrote La Glossologie. Influenced by natural sciences in the 19th century, he shows in his work a conception between Linguistic and Biologic, and specifically the relation with Darwin's approaches about the origin and evolution of especies. This is why Antonio de la Calle is located in a naturalist position which defends the language as an alive organism. Also, he establishes a comparation between th filogheny and the ontogheny of language. As he says, the limit of language evolution is la décadence des formes, by linguistic economy, emphasizing la partie idéologique, l'évolution des idées. Besides, De la Calle indicates that romanic languages are the most degraded. Finally, we will try to connect this theory of the 19th century with the special characteristics of language about New Techlogies of information.
