THE COMPARED PHILOLOGICAL DICTIONARY OF THE CASTILIAN LANGUAGE OF MATÍAS CALANDRELLI
Abstract
First, the article at hand briefly looks into how Joan Corominas has put diverse 19th century etymological dictionaries to use. Moreover, this work is also provides the reader with a first approach to another 19th century dictionary that is hardly known, that of Matías Calandrelli. After a brief biographical sketch on the life and work of this Argentinian lexicographer of Italian descent, we analyze his dictionary and look into his sources as well as his working method.Downloads
