LA SEMIOLOGÍA DEL NOMBRE PROPIO EN SAUSSURE: LOS NIBELUNGEN Y LOS ANAGRAMMES
Abstract
When Saussure died in 1913, he left two main groups of unpublished manuscripts (apart from his notes on General Linguistics): his researches into Germanic Legends (called 'Nibelungen' by Robert Godel) and those on the anagram in ancient poetry (Vedic, Greek, Latin and also Germanic literary traditions: the 'Anagram Notebooks). This essay intends to compare these two saussurean works in order to prove that they must be considered as two different but nearly related approaches to the semiotic relevance of proper names. The former presents proper namos as contingent pieces in the legends´ versions, submitted to constant variability, as well as plots, places, functions, etc. The second maintains, however, that proper names function as clues to give.Downloads
