Abstract

To deepen in the study of psychological and social aspects referring to social and emotional competences and consider the real relationships with coping (understood as resources to cope with adversity with success) it becomes an intense challenge for investigation with future professors that will become part of educational contexts and will cope with several stressful situations generated by the task itself.

Professors face stressful life events that according to the publications in this field, it is connected to violence, social marginalization, family conflicts, and lack of ability from the school to compensate social  and economical gaps, among others. When referring to emotional intelligence at educational contexts, its important role in teaching institutes can`t be left aside. 

This study proposes analyze social and emotional competences among future professors studying at Instituto Superior del  Profesorado Superior J.V. González in Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires, Argentina, when coping with vital stressors concerning  teaching practice.
