RELIGIOSOS MATEMÁTICOS Y MATEMÁTICOS EN LAS PRIMERAS DECADAS DEL SIGLO XVIII EN MURCIA
Abstract
Diverse documentaion in the first decades of the 18th century shows the importance of catholic architects and mathematicians in Murcia, although their work was of uneven quality and their achievements varied, from case to case. The constant challenge of the river and its flash-floods required more technical opinions and solutions that were frequently ignored by the master builders but insisted upon by fhe municipal authorities. So the points of view and the solutions of these architects and mathematicians were crucial and provided the pecfect complement to fhe practical know-how of the master builders of the guilds, more experienced in the practical aspect than the theoretical.Downloads
