Generic and transversal competences in the speech-language pathology degree from the students’ viewpoint
Abstract
Resulting from the importance given to the acquisition and development of competences within the framework of the European Higher Education Area, this article pursues two goals: to analyze how 4th year graduate students of Speech-Language Pathology in the Complutense University of Madrid assess the generic and transversal competences described in the title, and, secondly, how they perceive their own acquisition of these competences. Results indicate that in every case students give positive feedback about the degree’s competences. Students’ perceptions are in all cases higher than the actual competences they admit to have acquired, which gives rise to significant statistical differences between both views.
