Abstract

This study explores the position of some of the publishing houses in the Valencian Community regarding the migration of textbooks towards digitized formats. A mixed methodology is used to analyse the three dimensions involved — the technological, the educational and the commercial — through a series of interviews, surveys, groups of discussion and analyses of documents. Among the results achieved, it is important to point out the heterogeneity of formats, media and brands involved; the need for pedagogical advisory teams in the publishing houses; teachers’ competence on digital products and the editorial silence when it comes to commercial prospects.
