The Convention on the Rights of Child: Mean, Reach and New Challenges
Abstract
In this work, we are focussing on three aspects of the Convention on the Rights of the Child: its meaning and its scope in the last 20 years, and its main challenges over the coming 10 years.
To do this, we will firstly look at an analysis of the meaning of the Convention and the context of the evolution of the international right to Human Rights. Secondly, we will briefly present the content of the Convention, to understand its scope and finally we will analyse its main challenge over the next few years: the main implications that the third Protocol on a communication procedure will represent for the Committee of the Rights of the Child when it comes into force in the not too distant future.
