The critics have often placed zévaco in the shade of the great Alexandre Dumas. They forgot then that the Corsican writer obtained a considerable reputation among the readers, some of them being famous intellectual as the same Sartre. In Spain the number of translations to the Castilian of his works, besides the immediacy of his publication or the fact of possessing an own collection in some contemporary publishing houses of prestige confirm the good reception between the Spanish audience. The article aims to analyze the force of the mentioned novelist across the analysis of his reception in the Hispanic press of the epoch without neglecting the reference to his translators and illustrators.
