Abstract

The review analyzes the book 1 A.C. (after ChatGPT): Generative Artificial Intelligence in Higher Education (2024), by Gregorio González Alcaide, published by the University of Valencia, which examines the impact of generative artificial intelligence (GAI), particularly ChatGPT, on higher education. Máxima Bolaños-Pizarro highlights that the work responds to academic concerns arising from the emergence of these tools, proposing a conscious, ethical, and responsible use by both teachers and students. Structured into five chapters, the manual successively addresses the theoretical and institutional framework, the integration of GAI into teaching practice, its ethical implications, its influence on research, and a didactic unit aimed at teachers. The author concludes that the book underscores the need for generative artificial intelligence literacy among Information and Documentation professionals, promoting transparency, ethics, and academic integrity in this new stage of higher education.
