Los soportes fílmicos, magnéticos y ópticos desde la perspectiva de la conservación de materiales

Abstract

This article focuses on the conditions for the conservation of motionpicture film, magnetic and optical media. First, filmic materials are analyzed. In order to do so, an outline of the main landmarks in their historical development is offered, then both their composition and their most common pathologies are looked into, and finally the environmental and biotic conditions for a correct preservation are given. Secondly, magnetic materials are examined. Just as in the previous case, their evolution, physical and chemical composition, and best preservation conditions are studied. Finally, we deal with optical materials, we see their historical development, physical characteristics and the external conditions needed for their adequate preservation
