Abstract

Orienteering as an outdoor and leisure sport in the forest, is currently creating a focus of active tourism coming from Scandinavia and middle-south Europe towards Spain. In particular, this tourist-orienteers have chosen Murcia and Alicante as their winter holiday destination. Therefore, from february to april, training-camps have been designed in these areas, in order to promote the practise of this sport in Spain. The outcomes from a survey show the importance and potential of orienteering as an incoming tourism.
