EL TURISMO EN LA REGIÓN ONUBENSE-ALGARVÍ

Abstract

      The tourism has been converted into the whiteness of the third millennium in one of the first items of the international trade, with more than 635 million of arrivals that supposed some income by tourism of 439.393 billion of dollars. Europe continues being the most attractive destination, with 381 million of arrivals being benefitted of 220.494 billion of dollars. The most visited countries in 1999 were France with 71 million and Spain with 52.       In this context, the Peninsular southwest, presents natural and human determining con of high strategic value for the tourist development and already constitutes the destination of about 1% of the tourists of the world and in wheel to the 0,5% of the income. This supposes an emerging tivity, that attends to a floating population six times more numerous than the resident, and it has caused deep economic transformations, social and territorial of high interest for the European Union.
