Abstract

The Orchard of Alicante and his defensive towers are a heritage group that it could be approach to incorporate to the tourist market of the city of Alicante. The defensive towers are a set of buildings of the centuries XV-XVII which were used to take refuge for the population due to the continuous attacks by pirates from North Africa. Nowdays, some of them have disappeared or are in ruins despite it being protected as «Bien de Interés Cultural» (BIC) (Interest Cultural Element). The aim of this research is to promote the Orchard of Alicante and his defensive towers with the proposal of a tourist route.
