Abstract

Air transport has played a significant role in the development of mass tourism in the sixties and seventies, especially in a fragmented territory and away as the Canary Islands. Thus, without the advent of the jet engine to the Canary Islands, can’t understand the spectacular development of tourism in the islands during this period. Thus the main objective of this paper, is to show the decisive role of air transport for tourism development in the Canary Islands.
