Abstract

The olive tree monoculture in Jaen, at the South of Spain, constitutes a true curiosity both for its social implications as well as its ecological impacts. This work tries to propose some reflections on that object and its historical process of make up. Besides that the main challenges witch that system must side in a near future will be consider. The author relies on a past ethnographic experience, in addition that more recent reflexive processes on a cultural system witch have for him special implications for being a «native».
