Abstract

The folkloric narrative repertoire of a community contains traditional tales which are linked to universal values, social relationships and economic models of a long historical trajectory. This repertoire also contains temporary narrative cycles related to more ephemeral facts such as the political jokes about a regime and its ruler. This article reflects on the folklorist’s work and examines the cycle of the jokes about Franco.
