Abstract

The article discusses the origin and impact of the «saeta» in the Holy Week processions in Cartagena since the late twentieth century. It refers how the Holy Week was interpreted in the city and shows the testimony of Antonio Piñana. Initiatives of individuals or brotherhoods for its conservation are shown. It also provides the testimony of the musicologist Hipólito Rossy, deals with the relationship with the «cantaor» Manuel Centeno with Cartagena and his death in this city.
