Abstract

The towns and villages on Cartagena coast keep a large oral heritage related to the species of birds and fi shes which live on that coast. Many of those traditions are present among the fi shermen from other mediterraneam countries (especially Italian and Greek) and have, in many cases, an origin that we can fi nd in some authors of classical antiquity.
