La nueva nomenclatura electroquímica y su recepción en español
Abstract
En 1834, en el marco de las in- vestigaciones sobre la descomposición elec- troquímica que se venían realizando desde la invención de la pila de Volta en 1800, Michael Faraday (1791-1867) introdujo en sus escritos una serie de términos (electrodo, ánodo, cátodo, electrólisis, electrolito, electrolítico, ion, anión y catión). En este artículo, tras ofrecer un acercamiento al origen de esas vo- ces a partir de los textos y la correspondencia del físico inglés, se profundiza en el estudio de su difusión en Europa y, particularmente, en el de su recepción en España, con el propó- sito de analizar su introducción y adaptación al español.Downloads
