Abstract

The text addresses the educational potential of music videos and how, from their instructional design and production, creative skills are developed together with individual skills that students should achieve in their initial training as Early Childhood Education teachers. In order to do this, we undertook an analysis of the process and final results in the production of 78 didactic music videos, included in 41 microsites, produced by students in the third year of the Degree of Early Childhood Education, Faculty of Education, Toledo University of Castilla la Mancha (UCLM) during the period between 2012 and 2014. For the development and production of the video
the methodology “open learning” and the technique “flipped classroom” were used. The results of the experiment have demonstrated that: a) the participating students have acquired a higher level of competence in both general and musical skills; b) the music videos productions are of sufficient quality so as to be used in kindergarten classrooms as teaching resources (professional).
