Rating obstacles, advantages and practice of e-learning: a case study in Latin American Universities
Abstract
The present study analyzes the contributions of 72 students from three nationalities who have completed distance learning using Interactive Video Conferencing and Virtual Learning Environments. This study addresses certain problems concerning the lack of guidance to students, problems of communication during the e-learning process, and some technical problems and difficulties in the ability to organize and empower students. The method applied in the study was developed with different techniques and instruments through data triangulation. From the results of a descriptive analysis and a factor analysis, this piece of research concludes that attention and dedication of teachers through effective communication tools is fundamental in order to maintain continuous contact with students, given the importance of carrying out a direct and continuous contact with the teacher. Ultimately, consistency is essential in the design of Virtual Learning Environments and Interactive Video Conference.
