Inteligencia emocional en el perfil formativo y psicosocial de los estudiantes universitarios: una revisión sistemática

Resumen

Introducción: Dentro de la conducta humana, la inteligencia emocional tiene un papel fundamental sobre las decisiones que toma, relacionándose con competencias, su nivel de estrés y de resiliencia. Con esta revisión sistemática se pretende realizar un análisis del estado de la cuestión sobre la inteligencia emocional en estudiantes universitarios. Método: Para ello se ha llevado a cabo una búsqueda en la base de datos Web of Science de los descriptores “emotional intelligence” y “university students”, haciendo uso de la estrategia PICO, se seleccionaron un total de 24 artículos. Resultados: La producción científica en este campo tiene una tendencia ascendente, por lo que existe un claro interés en la comunidad científica por su estudio. En este sentido, el país que más viene estudiando esta variable en población universitaria es España. Por otro lado, la mayoría de los estudios sobre esta materia tienen diseños descriptivos y de corte transversal. Discusión: Respecto al estado de la cuestión, la inteligencia emocional es una variable psicológica fundamental en las elecciones del alumnado y está relacionada con el rendimiento académico, el bienestar psicológico, la motivación, el estrés, la ansiedad y la resiliencia del alumnado, relacionándose altos niveles de inteligencia emocional con un mejor rendimiento académico, más bienestar, una alta motivación y alta resiliencia, reduciendo los niveles de estrés y ansiedad. Por tanto, este trabajo de revisión pone de relieve la importancia de trabajar la competencia emocional de los estudiantes como forma de mejora de su perfil formativo, psicosocial y profesional.
