Throughout the calendar year, CPD publication periods will be distributed as follows:

SCOPE AND POLICY

The main purpose of the CPD magazine is to collaborate in the dissemination of original research, theoretical and technical studies, short communications, etc. that are carried out in our country and internationally on the psychology of sport and on sports sciences, written in Spanish and/or English. Papers must be original, not published or being considered in another journal for publication, the authors being solely responsible for the statements made in their article.

The following types of work will be considered for publication: original research, systematic reviews or meta-analysis, reviews, monographs, supplements and letters to the editor.

Originals. They will be research works on sports psychology or sports sciences. They will have the following structure: summary (Spanish, English and Portuguese), key words (Spanish, English and Portuguese), text (introduction, method, results, discussion and practical applications), acknowledgements (if applicable) and references.

Systematic reviews or meta-analysis. State of the question on a given topic, through a systematic review or meta-analysis. The CPD journal will accept for review those manuscripts that meet the standards suggested by Fernández-Ríos and Buela-Casal (2009) and by Sánchez-Meca (2010).

Reviews. They will be made on current books at the date of publication of the issue of the journal. They will have a maximum length of 1000 words, not being necessary the structure previously described.

Monographs-Supplements. Proposals will be studied for Monographs (which will be organised and managed like the rest of the articles, and which will deal with a common theme) and Supplements (manuscripts derived from scientific meetings such as congresses, conferences, etc.). In both cases, the request must be sent simultaneously to the Monograph and Supplement Editors.

Letters to the Editor. State of the question on a certain topic, or comment on some work published in previous issues in the journal. Optionally, the work may include tables and figures.

PRESENTATION AND STRUCTURE OF THE WORKS

Papers may be submitted in Spanish, Portuguese and English, although in all cases there will be a summary in Spanish, English and Portuguese. The text will be written in Times New Roman 12, with a spacing of 1.5. Page margins will be 2.5 cm.

Manuscripts will be sent to the journal through the digital platform Open Journal OJS System (http://revistas.um.es/cpd).

The manuscript will be accompanied by a letter of presentation requesting the consideration of the manuscript, in which the author will also explain in 4-5 lines, which is the original contribution of the work presented and its novelties, the declaration of not sending simultaneously to other journals and the confirmation of the signatory authorships. This letter will also include the transfer of rights to the publisher. The author must keep a copy of the original in order to avoid irreparable loss or damage to the material. It must be sent in WORD.

Prior to the start of the process of assigning reviewers, compliance with the introduction of metadata and references, names of authors and co-authors will be checked, as well as an assessment of the detection of plagiarism or other types of fraud by the Editorial Board.

For the whole document when it is presented in Spanish, the characters of the Spanish language must be used. Thus, the "y" in Spanish should be used instead of the "&" in English, both in the text and in the references section. Use the comma instead of the dot as a decimal separator.

VERY IMPORTANT: The data of the authors and their affiliation will only appear in the metadata of the platform when the file with the original is uploaded.

EDITORIAL PROCESS

In the above-mentioned cover letter, it will be expressly indicated that it is a work that has not been previously published or disseminated, nor that it is being evaluated in another journal. Contributions will be indicated in terms of originality and novelty that, in the opinion of the authors, the work poses. The cover letter must be signed by all authors.

CPD's editorial staff will acknowledge receipt to the authors of the papers that arrive and will subsequently inform them first of whether or not the formal and content aspects have been complied with, which means that the paper will be evaluated, returned for modification or rejected. In a second phase, the manuscripts will be reviewed anonymously (blind or double blind) by two experts in the field of study and/or methodology used. CPD, in view of the external reports, reserves the right to accept/reject the articles for publication, as well as to introduce style modifications and/or shorten the texts that exceed the permitted length, committing itself to respect the content of the original.

In the case of disparate judgments between the two evaluators, the works will be sent to a third evaluator. The original articles and revisions will be submitted to external peer review. Papers that are reviewed and could be considered for publication after modification must be returned within 15 days if minor or major corrections are requested. The authors will receive the evaluation reports from the reviewers, anonymously, so that they can make (if necessary) the appropriate corrections or replicas.

The temporary process of the manuscripts submitted to CPD will be distributed as follows:

a) Acknowledgement of Receipt, minimum quality compliance filters and access to peer review process: 1 month

b) Acknowledgement of Receipt, Peer Review and Reply Acceptance/Changes/Rejection: maximum 6 months

In general, once seen the external reports, the factors on which the decision on the acceptance-rejection of the works on the part of the writing of CPD is based are the following:

a) Originality: totally original, valuable information, repetition of known results

b) News and novelty

(c) Relevance: applicability of results to the resolution of specific problems

(d) Significance: advancement of scientific knowledge

(e) Reliability and scientific validity: proven methodological quality

(f) Presentation: good drafting, organization (logical coherence and material presentation)

(g) Applicability to the professional field.

Authors of accepted articles will receive proofs of printing for correction by e-mail in PDF format. Corrected proofs must be returned to CPD by e-mail in PDF format within 72 hours of receipt. Only minimal corrections can be made to the content of the original manuscript at no extra cost.

In addition, together with the final galley proofs for approval, an Identification and Assignment of Rights form (provided by CPD) will be sent to the authors, which they will have to sign and hand in with the galley proofs as part of the final publication process.
